the tree of life

Its foliage travels miles; the green of its leaves is both solid and iridescent. The grass under my feet is soft and spongy. The trunk of this tree is so huge it dwarfs the giant redwoods. It’s extremely old, nearly old as the earth itself, only days younger. A soft, white bench curls around its base but nothing can ever touch this tree. Its branches tower into the sky, yet the light comes through perfectly white, perfectly brilliant. People walk about absorbed with themselves or there companions. I am at peace here, there is no feeling of fear, no constant pain or heart ache, a feeling I did not know could exist in this world. My gaze is fixed on this tree, as I move forward. It is my final destination, to eat the fruit of this tree. To be in the place where my savior will hold it in his wounded hands saying “take eat and live forever.” I will eat and he will take me to my place in his father’s house, then I will know I am home.
